Better late than never

It's been a busy week.
Last weekend I flew back to the UK to take my daughters out. We spent the morning shopping for school stuff (swimsuits, shoes etc)then in the afternoon we visited my mad mum in Blandford. It was a sort of improvised "back to nature" afternoon. Teaching the girls to make a fire from two pieces of wood and how to make pine resin candles. The crowning moment was Imogen's home made bow and arrows, crafted from a willow stick, a shoe lace and an assortment of other sticks to use as arrows. She picked an arrow, placed it on the bow, drew back the string and took aim like an 8 year old Boudicca about to repel an enemy. It was then I though it would be prudent to take cover. As I dashed behind a tree I heard the arrow whip through the air right behind me. I then relieved Imogen of her bow and arrow on the condition that she could only have it back when there was nobody within 100 yards. It's a good thing we hadn't started the fire as the thought of Imogen shooting flaming arrows is something nightmares are made of.

I spent most of last week working in Luxembourg. It's an unusual place, very pretty but with very little to do in the evenings other than hang out in bars. I thought to myself when in Rome do as the Romans and so spent most evenings hanging around in bars. It was tough, but someone had to do it.

On Thursday Angela told her boss she would be moving to Amsterdam soon. I'm so excited and I can't wait for her to get here. On Monday I've a meeting with an estate agent who assures me that he'll find us the perfect place to start out life together.

As for this weekend, well it's a little early to say much about it. Grocery shopping, cleaning the apartment, cleaning the car, speaking to Angela and daydreaming. This evening I'm going 10 pin bowling with some friends and I'm sure my comic attempts at knocking down even a single pin will keep everyone amused.
